Plaque

A 3'x4' solid brass plaque weighing between 100-150 pounds was stolen from the base of the croos at Mt. Davidson in San Francisco. This plaque was installed in 1998 to commemorate the 1.5 million victims of the Amenian Genocide perpretrated between 1915 to 1918. the theft is believed to have occurred between 09/20/2007 and 09/24/2007.

The Inscription on the plaque reads:

"If evil of this magnitude can be ignored, if our own children forgot, then we desrve oblivion and earn the world's scorn." The Armenian language version of the inscription appears alongside this message. At the bottom of the plaque are the words "Armenian Genocide Commemoration Day April 24, 1998."
