APRIL 25, 2012 REGULAR MEETING
The Police Commission of the City and County of San Francisco met in the Taraval District, A.P. Giannini Middle School, 3151 Ortega Street, San Francisco, at 6:20 p.m.
PRESENT: Commissioners Mazzucco, Marshall, Chan, Kingsley, Turman
ABSENT: Commissioners DeJesus, Slaughter
(Commissioner Turman arrived at 6:25 p.m.)
Commissioner Mazzucco welcomed the audience and asked the Commissioners to introduce themselves.
Request of the Chief of Police to accept donation of $300.00 from the Asian Peace Officer Association for use by the SFPD Wilderness Program
Motion by Commissioner Marshall, second by Commissioner Kingsley. Approved 5
APPROVAL OF THE REQUEST OF THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO ACCEPT DONATION FOR THE WILDERNESS PROGRAM OF $300.00 FROM THE ASIAN PEACE OFFICER ASSOCIATION
RESOLVED, that the Police Commission hereby approves the request of the Chief of Police to accept donation for the Wilderness Program of $300.00 from the Asian Peace Officer Association.

REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
a. Chief’s Report
Review of recent activities
Chief Suhr reported on recent activities in the department and talked about recent demonstration at the Well Fargo board meeting. The Chief gave a brief update on crime statistics.
b. OCC Director’s Report
Review of recent activities
Director Hicks introduced herself and went on to talked about the duties and responsibilities of the OCC.
c. Commission Reports
Commission President’s Report
Commissioner Mazzucco reported on the recent Wells Fargo demonstration.
Commissioner Marshall also reported that the Youth Commission and the Chief will be part of his radio program on Sunday at 8 p.m., KMEL.
d. Commission Announcements and scheduling of items identified for consideration at future Commission meetings
Emile Lawrence asked the Commission to advertise the meetings to get more people to attend the meeting.
Maryanne discussed concerns regarding burglaries in the Sunset District.
CAPTAIN CURTIS LUM, COMMANDING OFFICER OF TARAVAL STATION, TO ADDRESS THE COMMISSION ON POLICE ACTIVITIES IN THE TARAVAL DISTRICT
Captain Lum addressed the Commission on police activities in the Taraval District and went on to talked about crime statistics and the demographic of the Taraval District.
Dick, Taraval resident, discussed concerns regarding traffic between Taraval and Lincoln Way and drivers running stop signs and is a hazard for children and would like an officer between 9
th and Pacheco during the rush hours.
Emile Lawrence spoke about the time he bought a house in the Taraval and gave a brief history of the district.
Paulette Brown discussed concerns about Captain Lum.
Michael Andrew discussed Officer Herman Chu and stated that he should be given an award and then went on to discuss about an individual who lives in the District that needs to be arrested for terrorizing another individual and stated that he would like to meet with the Captain.
Mary Harris, OMI District in Action, thanked Chief Suhr for keeping Captain Lum in the district and went on to talk about the Taraval Neighborhood Team, "TNT," and asked the Chief to keep the Team going.
Bonnie Chung spoke in support of the TNT and asked the Chief to have the Team going.
Motion by Commissioner Kingsley, second by Commissioner Chan. Approved
Thereafter, the meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
