Nebraska State Troopers Arrest Richmond District Burglary Suspects

On April 3, 2011 at approximately 3:00pm thieves committed a brazen daytime burglary in the outer Richmond District. The burglary occurred on the 300 block of 29th Avenue.

In this incident, the suspects broke into a premise and stole heirloom jewelry and several hundred dollars in U.S. currency.  Witnesses provided police with suspect and vehicle description, including a New Hampshire license plate number.

Investigators from Richmond Police Station issued a nationwide crime alert for the suspects’ vehicle.

On April 5, 2011 along Interstate 80, near the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, an alert member of the Nebraska State Patrol noticed a vehicle travelling in excess of the posted speed limit. The Trooper stopped the vehicle and quickly determined it was the vehicle wanted by the S.F.P.D. in connection with the 29th Avenue burglary. One suspect fled on foot, but was quickly captured. In all, four suspects were taken into custody.

Troopers in Nebraska worked closely with S.F.P.D. Investigators and obtained a search warrant, which lead to the recovery of several hundred pieces of jewelry and nearly $20,000 in U.S. currency.

Many of the items stolen in the 29th Avenue burglary were recovered.

Placed under arrest were; Camilo A. Ceron-Jimines, 22 of Burien, Washington; Jonathan Rodrigues, 27 of Jackson Heights, New Jersey; Ricardo A. Panuela, 38 of Union City, New Jersey and David Morales, 41 of Queens, New York.

All four were charged with receiving stolen property. Rodrigues and Morales were additionally charged with obstructing an officer.

S.F.P.D. Inspectors are working to implicate the suspects in our local burglary and to identify the owners of the other items recovered.

S.F.P.D. would like to thank members of the Nebraska State Patrol for their crucial role in apprehending the burglary suspects and for their assistance in the investigation.
