Motown Celebrity Impersonator
The San Francisco Police Department is alerting the public about celebrity impersonator Alan Young.
Young has been impersonating Motown celebrity Lamont Dozier and uses his “celebrity status” to induce unwitting victims into wining and dining him. Alan Young is known to frequent hotel bars and restaurants looking for his marks. He engages strangers in conversations and then introduces himself as a celebrity there to celebrate his birthday.
Police are warning citizens to be aware of this scam artist and to avoid becoming a victim. Young is very clever and is described as an African American male who is 57 years old but appears much older. He is 5’9” approximately 185 lbs. with receding, graying hair and brown eyes.
Anyone coming in contact with Young should call the police. He has an active arrest warrant issued by the Department of Corrections for parole violation (receiving stolen property). He is an escape risk and is known to feign a heart attack to avoid arrest.
