SAN FRANCISCO POLICE JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER

 

 

 

 

On September 27, 2010 the San Francisco Police Department will assist an international bicycle ride intended to raise awareness of breast, prostrate and pancreatic cancer research.



Canadian Firefighter Lieutenant Rudy Popisil is a cancer survivor. On September 5, 2010 he led a team of police officers and firefighters on a 1,700 mile cross country bicycle ride that will take them from Vancouver, Canada to Mexico.



The “Three Countries – Three Cancers Police / Firefighters Cycle for Cancer” is scheduled to arrive in San Francisco on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 1:00PM. San Francisco Police Officers will meet the bicycle riders at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge and will escort the ride to a welcoming reception at the Kabuki Hotel. The welcoming reception is tentatively schedule for 3:00PM at the Kabuki. Times are estimated as traffic and riding conditions may influence travel time of the bicycle ride.
