The San Francisco Police Department and the Safety Network Program (a member of the Mayor’s Neighborhood Crime Prevention Program) will again this year sponsor National Night Out events on Tuesday, August 3 in ten S.F.P.D. districts with officers from the district stations participating. National Night Out: America’s Night Out Against Crime is held annually on the first Tuesday of August across the country to promote neighborhood involvement to help stem crime through strengthening police-community relations and encouraging neighborhood camaraderie by hosting a number of neighborhood events. The stations participating are:
Park District: Boys & Girls Club, 1950 Page Street at Stanyan from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. BBQ and games with Park Station police officers. In partnership with the Boys and Girls Club.
Tenderloin District: TL Children’s Playground, 570 Ellis Street from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be provided. Game booths, bounce house, prizes, drawings, face painting for all. For more information contact Officer Torres at 415-345-7341
Richmond District: Richmond Police Station, 461 6th Avenue from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Come join the Officers of Richmond Station for a tour of the station and light refreshments.
Bayview District: Bayview Opera House and Mansell Plaza, 3rd Street and Oakdale Streets from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Come meet your neighbors, strengthen neighborhood spirit and Police community partnerships. For more info call 415-647-3728 or email@example.com.
Central District: Joe Dimaggio Playground, Lombard Street between Stockton and Powell from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Join us for hotdogs and drinks for the kids. Also meet the Officers and police horse, police motorcycles, dirt bikes and see the talking car. In partnership with The Telegraph Hill Association.
Northern District: African American Arts & Culture Complex, 762 Fulton Street from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Come join us for food, entertainment and resource fair.
Ingleside District: 2800 block of Alemany Boulevard at 5:00pm. Come join us as we have a “paint and plant party”. Officers and community members are going to meet on the 2800 block of Alemany Boulevard and paint over graffiti and plant shrubbery. After the paint and plant party we will meet at the Bethel Lutheran Church at Alemany and Ottawa for snacks and beverages.
Taraval District: West Sunset Playground, Ortega and 38th Avenue from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.Come join Taraval Officers along with speakers for games and food. In partnership with Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center.
Southern District: Gateview Avenue near Northpoint from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Come joint the Officers for police displays, K-9 police motorcycles, giveaways and free food and drinks, fun for the whole family. In partnership with the Treasure Island Supportive Housing, Good Neighbors of Treasure and Yerba Buena Islands.
Mission District: Valencia Gardens, Maxwell Court from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Come join
us for the community BBQ meet Mission Station Officers; see the Fire Dept. engine truck, family activities and information services for the community.
