San Francisco Police Seek Public's Help In April Homicide At 3rd & Folsom Street.

San Francisco police are seeking the public's help in a homicide that occurred on April 18, 2009 at approximately 2:00 am, at 3rd & Folsom Streets. The victim, James Turner had come to San Francisco from the East Bay with some friends, and they went to a local night club on the 700 block of Harrison Street. James left the club at closing time, along with numerous other patrons. He walked towards 3rd & Harrison, when he was about half a block away from a group of young men that were harassing passer-bys and threatening them with a gun. Witnesses report that the group of young men focused their attention on James, and chased him down 3rd Street to Folsom where they shot him several times. James was able to run across 3rd Street, where he collapsed on the sidewalk. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

James Turner was a 23 year old, African American man, who attended college and worked full time. James had never been in any trouble with the law, and was known to his family and friends as a happy and gregarious young man who avoided trouble.
